Protect the Bandwidth

Attention is not a personal habit to polish; it is strategic infrastructure that needs governance, triage, and protection.

Most systems protect money better than attention.

A budget has owners.

Headcount has approvals.

Risk has committees.

Capital has rules.

Even the office coffee sometimes has a clearer governance model than the collective attention of the people expected to make the organisation work.

Attention, meanwhile, gets spent by whoever can make the loudest claim.
