Do I Need A Diagnosis To Start
No. You do not need a diagnosis to start Weekly Reset. You can begin with what is hard to run in real life.
A diagnosis can help, but it is not the doorway
A diagnosis can be useful. It can explain patterns, support self-understanding and help people access the right services. But Poko does not make diagnosis the doorway to every practical support move. If your week is breaking, waiting for the perfect label can become another delay.
Function gives us enough to begin
Function means what has to work: starting, finishing, planning, switching, deciding, communicating, recovering, protecting capacity and keeping a useful next move visible. You can describe those things without proving why they exist.
This is not anti-diagnosis
Function-first does not mean labels are irrelevant. It means the label is not forced to carry all the work. ADHD, autism, AuDHD, burnout, anxiety, perfectionism or unclear patterns may all shape what is happening. Poko respects that while keeping the immediate support practical and within scope.
Why waiting can add load
Many people delay support because they think they need the right language first. That can turn uncertainty into paralysis. The week still needs to be run while the story is unclear. Starting with function gives you a way to act without pretending you have the whole map.
What to bring instead
Bring the ordinary moment: I cannot start. I cannot finish. The plan keeps changing. Everything is active at once. I can perform in bursts but not sustainably. That is useful data. It tells us where the support has to land.
How to use this
- Name the moment that is hard, not the perfect label.
- Notice what changes the cost of action.
- Use support for the week while bigger questions remain open.
